Community Guidelines

Last updated October 17, 2026

Ashmate works because people trust each other’s notes. These guidelines keep it that way.

Be real

  • Write about places you actually visited and dishes you actually tried.
  • Say so if you got a free meal, were invited, or are connected to the place.
  • No fake, copied, or paid reviews, and no ratings meant to boost or damage a business.

Be respectful

  • Criticise the food and the service, not people.
  • No hate speech, harassment, threats, or discrimination.
  • Do not name or show staff or other guests in a way that exposes or embarrasses them.

Keep it safe and legal

  • No illegal content, violence, or sexual content.
  • Only post photos you took or may share, and ask before showing people’s faces.
  • Do not share anyone’s private information, including addresses or phone numbers.

No spam

No advertising, repeated posts, mass following, or links that only promote something.

If something is wrong

Use “Report” on a note, list, or comment, or block the account. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts. Serious or repeated violations lead to permanent removal. To ask us to look again at a decision, write to [email protected].
